English cricket team in India and Sri Lanka in 1984–85

The England national cricket team toured India in 1984-85, playing a five-match Test series and five match ODI series versus India. Before arriving in India, the English team played two matches in Sri Lanka in November 1984.
The tour was nearly called off after the Deputy High Commissioner of Western India, Percy Norris was shot dead on 28 November in Mumbai, the day after hosting a reception for the England team.〔Radha, Sailesh S, "A Tribute to...Five Days in White Flannels: A Trivia Book on Test Cricket", AuthorHouse Publishing, 2009.〕
